Vein Treatments for Men
If you are experiencing unsightly varicose veins in your legs, you are not alone. It’s estimated that 60 percent of both men and women experience varicose veins in their lifetimes, and a quarter of those are actually men! The good news is that you don’t have to live with those bumpy, blue veins forever—at Vargas Face & Skin Center, we offer sclerotherapy and advanced laser vein treatments to remove varicose veins once and for all.
What are Varicose Veins?
Varicose veins make up a system of veins that deliver blood from the legs to the heart. When the vein isn’t working properly i.e. the blood collects in the vein rather than traveling to your heart, it can become swollen, enlarged, and painful. Various things cause varicose veins:
- standing for long periods of time
- chronic and/or congenital heart valve conditions
- pressure on the abdomen
Thankfully, varicose veins are more of a superficial system—the true, working venous system that does most of the work delivering blood to your heart lies much deeper within your legs. This means that you can either treat or completely remove your varicose veins won’t disrupting or ruining your circulation.
Sclerotherapy is a form of treatment for varicose veins wherein you’ll receive an injection of a solution directly into the vein. The blood within the blood vessel will clot and eventually turn into a scar that will fade away over time. The procedure takes about 30 minutes to complete. Your veins should disappear within three to four months depending on the size of the vein.
Laser Vein Treatments
Another effective treatment for your varicose veins is our advanced laser system. This in-office procedure will gently and permanently reduce the appearance of varicose veins, broken capillaries and any redness you may experience on your legs, ankles and feet. Laser vein treatments are quick and convenient with no downtime or discomfort to keep you from getting back to your regular activities.
